Academic programming
Beacon Child Development Center offers a welcoming, stimulating environment that cultivates your child’s independence, self-esteem and social & academic potential, with an individualized curriculum that will lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
Infants (Ages 6 weeks- 1 year)
We realize that “time is a thief” and infants grow and change at very rapid paces. Our program nurtures their development from their earliest milestones to the beginning of their first toddler steps. With a warm and nurturing staff, we provide a safe and welcoming environment to support every need of an infant’s development. From cuddling to crawling and cruising to climbing, our infant classroom supports their every need and creates many opportunities for learning and discovery.
Toddlers (Ages 1- 3 years)
Toddler 1:
Our Toddler 1 classroom provides an inviting and enriching environment for early toddlers to explore and discover using all of their senses while being guided and nurtured by a loving teacher. Beyond free play discovery, these toddlers will spend time in art, nature and music as they develop their fine and gross motor skills during this rapidly changing time of growth and development.
Toddler 2:
Our Toddler 2 classroom builds upon the rapid development in fine and gross motor skills to allow these energetic kiddos to begin to learn specifically about the world around them including animals, building, art, nature and identification of everyday items and events. Further, these young learners will begin to develop the early stages of reading with sounds and picture identification in books. Pretend play and story-telling nurtures early reading skills and imagination needed to lay the foundation of learning more complex and foundational concepts.
Early Preschool (3 year old):
Our 3 year old classroom is an immersive setting where independence and foundational skills begin to emerge and teachers create opportunities for children to learn by doing. Our dramatic play center allows children to practice everyday skills by dressing for a career, going to the grocery store and even setting a table and serving dinner to help build and hone the skills of independence. Letter and sound recognition along with basic fine motor writing skills are explored with children as they show interest. Building towers, dramatic play and discussing images of books leads to an enriching and developmentally supportive environment for your child to flourish.
Preschool (Age: 4 year old)
Our preschool classroom is alive with activity and learning from beginning to end. Our schedule includes a high-quality, state approved preschool curriculum steeped in standards designed to enrich and support children prior to entering Kindergarten. Our children will learn their letters, numbers, colors and begin the early stages of writing after completing our program. This classroom combines exploration in age-appropriate centers through free play with a curriculum lead by a high-quality teacher to support the growth and development of each child.
School-Age (Ages 5 to 12 years old)
Our school-age program is designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children ages 5 to 12. Along with transportation to and from school during the school year, we provide a place to complete homework or the freedom to play with friends. We provide age-appropriate activities and games to engage and enrich the lives of our school-age children. If remote learning is required, we are equipped to provide full day support of our local students to help them to continue to learn in a safe environment.
In the summer, our school-age children enjoy games, activities, field trips and nutritious meals to fully support them as they grow and develop their social, emotional and intellectual skills.
